Puerto Toro is a small fishing port located on the island of Navarino, 46 km southeast of Puerto Williams. Note that many maps are wrong: there is no road connecting Puerto Toro to Puerto Williams, you can only get there by boat. It is the southernmost continuous settlement in the world; and today it counts a small population of about 20 inhabitants. For some purists, it is considered the southernmost settlement in the world. 100 years ago, gold fever attracted adventurers. Today, only a handful of fishermen remain, although they are more numerous during the giant crab season (from July to November).
