Adirondack State Park is a vast natural area covering nearly 2.5 million hectares. It alone is larger than Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and Everglades National Parks combined! Previously threatened by deforestation, due to the intensive logging that followed the civil war, when it was necessary to rebuild, the park has been protected since 1894. About a hundred towns and villages are located within the park. They have about 132,000 inhabitants, but in summer, with seasonal residents, the population almost doubles. With 3,000 lakes, 3,200 km of hiking trails and 46 peaks, Adirondack State Park is the ideal place to recharge your batteries and unwind.
