This national park is located in Western Virginia, at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. Part of it is the neighbouring city named Robert Harper who has set up a ferry to cross Potomac River. The site, classified as National Historical Park by Congress in 1963, is known for being the headquarters of several major events: the arrival of the first American railway, the arrest of the first abolitionist John Brown after his bloody Insurgency attempt or the greatest surrender of federal troops during the War of Secession.
