A harmonious combination of comfort and nature. Minca Glamping is three beautiful cabañas in guadua with large windows overlooking the rainforest, the song of the birds as an alarm clock. Well decorated and with nice bathrooms. The Arimaka River, which flows below, offers a natural swimming pool to cool off. The owners, a French-Colombian couple who are attentive without being intrusive, do much to make the stay a success. Milady cooks well, while the affable Maxime is one of the best guides in the country. You are in good hands!

Minca, a village at 650 meters above sea level, and 14 kilometers from the city of Santa Marta is the main gateway to the Sierra Nevada, the highest coastal mountain in the world.
"Glamping" is a contraction of two words: "Glamour" and "Camping".
Minca Glamping is an alternative accommodation for eco-tourism, which offers the traveler a privileged and harmonious contact with the exuberant nature without renouncing to comforts and conveniences. Minca Glamping is built with endemic bamboo, different types of wood, palm leaves, all with artisanal techniques. Once installed, you will have the impression of being close to nature, and sleep directly in the jungle, but still protected by the mosquito nets of the large windows and the comfort of a good bedding. The climate is hot during the day, but cool at night. We sleep without air conditioning or fan.
Although close to the village (1.5 kilometers from the center of the village, with the last 600 meters to reach the reception by a walking path), Minca Glamping is in the middle of the forest, with the omnipresent sound of the Arimaca River that borders the site. After your breakfast, without having to leave the hotel, you can go down there in less than two minutes and enjoy a small natural pool and its waterfall: the totally natural jacuzzi is private and always available. Bamboo and gigantic Caracoli surround you while you enjoy the clear and fresh water.
Many fruit trees and tropical flowers allow the birds to feel comfortable and eat all year round. You can see: Keel-billed toucan, crested Oropendola, Squirrel Cuckoo, Oriole, black-cheasted jay, White-Bearded Manakin, Blue-grey Tanager, Hummingbirds... (we recommend bird watching tour ) On the way there is a small lake where you can see kingfisher and sometimes heron. We also have sightings of howler monkey, agouti, deer.
Hikers will be pleased by the different options around Minca, with waterfalls, coffee and cocoa farms, but also with a great gastronomic variety within the village itself.

Le personnel est extrêmement sympathique et serviable.
Le réveil dans le jardin/jungle est très agréable, on peut y observer les colibris au lever du soleil.
Seul bémol, le trajet de la route aux cabanes se fait en 10/15min sur un terrain accidenté. Ce n’est pas adapté aux personnes âgées ou en situation de handicap. Et préférez les sacs à dos aux valises à roulettes !
Nore and Carlos were fantastic hosts. When we arrived, Carlos met us at the gate and graciously carried my suitcase to reception at the top of the hill, where Nore greeted us with fresh juice. Throughout our stay, they were always quick to reply to a WhatsApp message if we needed to refill our water, order dinner or needed other assistance and had great insight into local attractions. When we didn’t need anything, they made sure the property offered us the peace and quiet we were looking for.
The included breakfast is generous, offering a huge serving of fresh fruit, eggs, toast, pastries, juice and coffee. While the property is close enough to town to walk to dinner, they also offer room delivery service from a handful of nearby restaurants. This was really nice on our first night after a long day of travel.
Their guide book has lots of information about nearby attractions including accurate hiking time and difficulty, which was a life saver as Google Maps can be unreliable in the area.
The only suggestion I have is to be more explicit about the difficult walk from the road to to the property. For us it was fine, but I can imagine some guests not wanting to commit to that.
I would just recommend the owners to fix the wooden floor planks in our bungalow, as they were are a bit dangerous (unstable planks and nails popping out).
Also a private or shared kitchen would be very welcome considering the price of the bungalow.
Very nice bathroom (though no soap/shampoo was provided) and great mosquito nets.
Except for those few details, I recommend and would come back !
