The volcanic complex of the San Salvador volcano, called Náhuatl volcano Quezaltepeque (mountain of the quetzal bird), consists of three summits: El Jabalí (907 metres altitude), El Boquerón (1 880 metres), which is protected by Parque Nacional el Boquerón and El Picacho (1 997 metres).
