Located in the south of Suriname in the Sipaliwini district, this nature reserve was created in 1972 and covers an area of 1,000 km2. Its rich ecosystems provide an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the large savannahs, in the tradition of the Brazilian savannahs. Here you'll find unique and rare flora and fauna, including the famous blue dendrobate Dendrobates azureus. The village is located next to the Sipaliwini airstrip, but as we're in the very south of the country, the Brazilian village of Missão is also accessible by a small road. Since 2019, the village has been powered by solar panels.
