Mua Mountain is home to an 800m2 grotto and a small pagoda dedicated to Quan Âm, perched high on a rocky outcrop and distinguished by its dragons. The pagoda is of very ancient foundation (Trân dynasty). Access is via an interminable flight of steps. The ascent is a little tough, but is rewarded by a splendid panorama of the region from the various viewpoints . This region was once covered by the sea. The twisted shapes of the rocks are the result of erosion. The tour is by boat (approx. 2 hrs.). The technique of the rowers, who use their feet, is one of the charms of the trip. Depart from the pier in the center of the village. The presence of buses can wrongly be a deterrent. All you have to do is choose the solitude and light of dawn or the end of the day to enjoy the beauty of the place. This was one of the Viêt-Minh's rallying points during the Indochina war.
