It is said that during the Revolution, Vosne-Romanée wine was proclaimed "the most excellent of all the wines of the French Republic". Six remarkable grands crus are grown here: the famous Romanée-Conti, Romanée, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, La Tâche, Richebourg and Grande-rue. There are also 14 premier crus.
