The Dal and Nagin lakes bring a touch of nonchalance to its picturesque décor. Floating market, walks in shikara (kind of gondola), walk on the pier where a multitude of vendors offer trinkets… Dal Lake is the city's main attraction. Because if the Westerners boycotting Srinagar (fearing for their lives), Indian tourists are many to come to the houseboats, these typical boats moored at the shore of the lake.
