Koksijde's assets are its beautiful unspoilt countryside and cultural sights. Less known than De Panne, especially on the French side, it is just as welcoming. Hotels, apartments, vacation villages near the beach or surrounded by greenery, a youth hostel guarantee a pleasant stay in this seaside town. Those who are used to the French coast should not be disoriented by the coastal landscape of which Koksijde is the geographical center. The dikes are dotted with the usual tourist signs and are reminiscent of those on the northern coast, such as Merlimont or Dunkirk. The difference is perhaps in the frequentation, more middle-class and older. The restaurants and hotels don't seem to take advantage of the tourist windfall, and many of them focus on the quality of their services. Don't worry about the language barrier, as all the main tourist facilities offer multilingual services, from the beachside restaurant to the souvenir store. In addition to the beach and the sea, Koksijde has a lot to offer: take a look at this charming region from the Hoge Blekker, the highest dune - 33 m - on the coast or walk as far as the eye can see in the protected nature reserves of about 700 ha. Several walking and biking trails cross the landscape.
