"The Nice of the Côte-d'Or" as Canon Kir called it. It must be said that this small town, well flowered, has a southern exposure. It is known for its wines and its waters. The latter are considered to be the most lithined in Europe and have been recognized since Antiquity for their benefits. They treat digestive system diseases and diabetes thanks to their high lithium content. At the end of the 19th century, there were 4 main sites: the Salt Fountain, the Santana Spring, the Carnot Spring and the Lithium Spring. In 2021, Santenay was reborn as a spa town with the opening of the Valvital spa. Curists and tourists can enjoy its relaxation area.
