Saint-Romain is a small commune off the beaten track, at the bottom of a cirque of steep cliffs. More exactly, there are two villages for the same name, Saint-Romain-le-Bas and Saint-Romain-le-Haut. Castle ruins, belvederes, archaeological site, hiking trails, winegrowers, you have several options for your visit. The church located in Saint-Romain-le-Haut dates from the 15th century and has a pretty gothic tower-porch, and, another particularity, you go down a staircase of 11 steps to enter it. Don't forget to stroll through the streets and to visit in summer the museum on prehistory, located in Saint-Romain-le-Bas next to the town hall.
