A Liège institution. You can't miss this mythical place behind the Place du Marché, in a cluster of ^18th-century mansions. The place is a must-see, as is the local beverage, peket, a genever available in some thirty fruity flavors... or flambé. But the special thing about the place is that it's made up of four entities (pékéterie, restaurant, wine bar and club) linked together in a maze of adjoining rooms where it's easy to get lost! There's also a popular outdoor terrace.

Opened in 1987 by a university professor, the bar covered an existing courtyard (hence the name). Today, it perpetuates an unchanging ambience, a popular and convivial side and an eclectic quality of music. It attracts night owls until 6am! The beer flow system here consists of a cold room that cools the kegs to -2°C and a mixture of nitrogen and_CO2 that makes the beer more digestible and the foam thicker. At weekends, you'll find some not-so-youngsters dancing on the tables.

Concert hall, brasserie, vinyl store, food truck, organizer of the Festival Les Ardentes... the Reflektor is on all fronts, or almost. We love music here, and it shows. In fact, the Reflektor owes its name to an Arcade Fire album. The 600-capacity concert hall features rock, pop, electro, house, reggae, metal and funk artists. Located at the end of an open courtyard, Pot au Lait, with its charming terrace, is a must. It's a real pleasure to be with a group, even if the place is noisy. Between alternative and reggae music, the decor is completely crazy and changing, and you mingle with the many students whose university is just a stone's throw away. A must-see at least once! For a touch of nostalgia, remember that the "Pot" was one of the very first cybercafés in the country... a genre that no one under twenty could possibly know!

The people of Liège are aware of this and prove that arthouse cinema is far from being reserved for an elite. Defending the works of Kusturica, Almodovar, the Dardenn brothers and many others is essential for independent programmers! Today, the Park has become a must. It is a place of reflection, emotion, encounters, dreams, escape and entertainment for the greatest number. Some films can even be viewed free of charge (pre-registration) and sometimes followed by a debate with the producer.

You like auteur films but don't sulk at quality Hollywood films? Le Sauvenière cleverly combines the two, and selects "general public" films while favouring auteur films. Moreover, the place itself is not unpleasant and rather design. Indeed, his brewery has been designed in a welcoming and very arty spirit, in line with the spirit of cinema, and organizes concerts (see the online program). There is also an outdoor terrace where you can watch open-air (and free) movies on Saturdays in the summer.

The Forum is an Art Deco-style jewel in the heart of the Cité Ardente. The venue has played host to some of the world's finest voices, from Jacques Brel and Léo Ferré to Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles and Miles Davis, as well as Barbara, Édith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Julien Clerc and many others. Comedians also have their place on the Forum stage: Fernandel, Fernand Reynaud, Guy Bedos, Coluche, Les Inconnus and Jamel have all performed on this legendary Liege stage, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2022.

For some years now, the former Théâtre de la Place has been housed in the magnificent building of the prestigious Société libre de l'Émulation. Over the years, the Théâtre de Liège has acquired an international reputation. Its director, Serge Rangoni, has made a major contribution to the reputation of the institution, which constantly highlights Belgian and French-language creation. In fact, it co-produces shows orchestrated by the greatest stage directors and collaborates with contemporary choreographers, who also make the reputation of this creative venue.

The drinks menu is very comprehensive, including many organic wines and a range of pékèts. If you're hungry, don't hesitate to order one of the dishes from the à la carte menu or the suggestion board - they're delicious! As the chef is a vegetarian, there's no shortage of vegetarian options. Les Grignoux also has its own beer... eponymous and beautifully amber.

Every year, the magnificent neoclassical Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège plays host to many exceptional artists: Ruggero Raimondi, Juan Diego Flórez, José Van Dam, José Cura, Elīna Garanča,... Since its creation in 1967, it has offered a program combining great classics and new discoveries, as well as numerous activities and concerts to discover the backstage, the music, learn to sing in workshops, meet with a performance artist, interactive musical presentations... The setting is sumptuous, to say the least.

Just a few steps from the Théâtre de la Place, the Randaxhe is a typical Outremeuse café and a veritable neighborhood institution. The house was built in 1896 and the café dates back to 1917, making it over a century old! Furnished in the old-fashioned style (the decor has remained unchanged since 1969), the interior exudes an atmosphere reminiscent of Simenon's novels. When the weather's fine, the huge, beautiful terrace is always packed with locals, tourists and artists from Liège. Several beers are available on draught, including the famous CTS scotch.

The 650-seat cabaret puts on over 100 shows a year. With a room decorated entirely in red velvet and gold leaf paint, you're plunged straight into the feather-and-sequin atmosphere of Paris's Lido or Moulin Rouge. This small, centrally-located theater offers revues, vaudeville, music-hall, stand-up and variety shows. At the entrance, the glass doors are completely covered with current posters, enough to pique interest and help make a choice.

This alternative art studio is an association that aims to create artistic emulation at the crossroads of disciplines: shows, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, dance, performances, experiments of all kinds, workshops for visual artists... the program is varied. We're happy to welcome you for a vernissage, a jazz jam or a small concert. Regular events such as "slow session de jazz acoustique", "ukulélé sur Meuse" and "carte blanche au conservatoire" are well worth a stopover.

In the heart of Liège, Blues-Sphère organizes concerts, jam sessions, evening shows and blues events. A true music enthusiast, Mr. Brillmaker programs "black roots" concerts, blues and African music, three or four times a week. The place, a little confined at the end of a long corridor, lends itself well to the exercise. The stage is ideally placed for the whole room to enjoy. A bar offers special beers at modest prices, and it's hard to say when you'll be coming out.

This legendary café, which dates back over a century, has everything to seduce, with its wood panelling and bay windows in a distinguished, old-fashioned style. It's one of Liège's most beautiful historic cafés. The atmosphere is very special, calm and festive at the same time. Two large billiard tables are located at the back of the café, just waiting to be explored. Chess players are also present at all hours. And for those who don't play billiards, but rather pétanque, the café makes these balls available for use on the courts in the old theater square.
