Renaissance city hall, works of architects from all countries, an Italian influence in the pink marble of some columns
The town hall dates back to 1565, and was built in Renaissance style. It is the fruit of the collaboration of architects from all over the world, reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of the port city. Italian influences can be seen in the pink marble of some of the columns, and 19th-century Romanticism in the salons featuring paintings by Leys. The first floor of the hotel originally housed merchants' stalls. Restored in 2022.
