Terán is located a dozen kilometres south of Cabezón de la Sal by the CA-180. It is home to Kaornega, a medieval necropolis under the chestnut trees. The site is believed to be the origin of the populations of the Cabuerniga valley. In the village of Terán, you can see a palace that belonged to a great lady of the place, named Mier and Terán: she was the great-grandmother of Prince Rainier of Monaco! You can also visit the church of Santa Eulalia, which dates back to the 11th century. At the end of July this village hosts the Los Pueblos del Norte International Festival, which brings together folk music groups from all over Europe.
