A romantic village on the banks of the Lech at the foot of the Arlberg, Steeg is home to the last cheese factory in the Lech valley, created in 1903 by the farmers of the Steeg / Hägerau communities. It was founded in 1903 by the farmers of the communities of Steeg and Hägerau and was privatized in 1955. Destroyed by a fire in 1962, it was rebuilt by local farmers. Today, it gathers 13 farmers from 5 mountain pastures, producing 2,500 and 5,000 liters of milk per day. You can bathe in the river and in the beautiful swimming pool on its banks. A gastronomic restaurant offers authentic flavors and exclusively prepared with products from local agriculture and livestock
