There's nothing special to say about this Tigrayan village, apart from its location at the foot of the spectacular Gueralta mountains, home to numerous rock-hewn churches. A few kilometers south of the village are two of the most beautiful churches (Abouna Abraham and Yohannes Maeqdi), which can be reached and visited on the same excursion in almost a full day, at least five to six hours of ascent, and no fear of heights. Bring water and, better still, a picnic, and above all good shoes and covering clothing to enter the holy places once you've reached the rocky spurs.
