To get to the sanctuary, the main reason for coming to Canòlich, you have to take the CS 111 road, which climbs up through endless curves. At last, 8 km from Sant Julià de Lòria, you come to this holy and secluded place, revered by hermits. Perched on the heights of the province (1,635 m), this small chapel dedicated to the Canòlich Virgin was restored in the 20th century on the ruins of a Romanesque church. Following the same road, we find the small village of Fontaneda 4 km further up. From here, the CS 112, joins the other side and the village of Aixas (4 km), which can be seen from Canòlich. Hiking trails lead to the sanctuary.
