Santa Monica is much more beautiful than its Californian homonym; not to be missed under any pretext! It is the biggest, perhaps the wildest and certainly the most incredible: 18 kilometers of sand, most of the time without meeting a living soul, just for you! It is located 8 km from Povoção Velha, accessible by a track that requires a 4x4 or a pick-up. The landscapes that you cross to reach it are arid, almost desert-like and the arrival on the immense beach is magical: you are facing a totally virgin natural space as there are few around... Remember to bring mineral water and sun cream.
