Aboisso is located north of the Aby lagoon, on the road to Ghana, whose border is about 60 km away. Its bus station is therefore very busy. Aboisso is not on the tourist circuit, but it is of major historical importance. Capital of the South Comoé region and cradle of the Sanwi kingdom, the oldest and most powerful in the history of Côte d'Ivoire, this small town with an eclectic population is made up of natives, non-natives (including the Baoule) and people from the region (Burkinabe, Ghanaians, Togolese, Nigeriens and Nigerians) who live together in harmony.Located in a green area of forests, hills and valleys and crossed by the majestic Bia River. It is 300 km long and its basin covers nearly 10,000 km²; it has its source in Ghana and joins the Atlantic Ocean through the Aby lagoon. Aboisso benefits from an Aithean climate characterized by abundant rainfall and high humidity, which is favorable to agriculture in the region. Cash crops (coffee, cocoa, oil palm) and food crops (rice and plantain with a unique watering system) dominate the hilly and green landscape of the Samo-Aboisso axis.
