This is a high place of Amerindian hunting, classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1981. Organized as a ceremony (The Iniskim), the hunt was organized in different stages: according to the legend, a spiritual call was first launched to guarantee the success of the enterprise (Tipi Ring); once in the plain, the bison were "guided", in a corridor of stone of 8 km, towards an enclosure (Gathering Basin) and then towards the edges of the precipice. Other sites in the region were used for this purpose by the Amerindians, such as the Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park. Hunting was used for food, heating, clothing, teepees...
