Thalang district covers the northeastern part of the island, including Sirinat National Park, a protected coastal area. There are many points of interest to discover, including the famous Ton Sai waterfalls, which are best seen during the monsoon season (May to October). The same goes for Bang Pae Falls. Nearby is the famous gibbon rehabilitation center. Other attractions in the district include Wat Sri Sunthon with its golden Buddha, and the small Peranakan Phuket Museum on Thepkasattri Road in Thalang, where you can learn more about the island's Chinese community.
