Travel Guide Lac Poso

Danau Poso (Lake Poso), at 515 meters above sea level, is the perfect place to relax. With a surface area of 32,000 hectares, it measures 37 km by 13 km and is 440 meters deep. The surrounding landscapes are pure, magnificent, absolutely authentic and untouched by pollution. Wild ducks abound, and silver and yellow carp and eels are enormous. Small boats can be hired to explore the lake and its shores. On the banks of the Poso, you can meet the Panomas, distant cousins of the Torajas. Their pre-Christian culture is said to have left 14 statue sites and burial caves.
