Located on the Indian Ocean coast, 27 km from Yogya, Parangtritis has over the years become an inexpensive and popular tourist beach. It offers the perfect escape for a day off the beaten track of the city, where you can savor the song of the waves and the unique ambience of the place. The coastline, made up of towering cliffs, spreads black volcanic sand on which the huge rollers of the Indian Ocean crash and crash. Vast dunes stretch out where the cliffs have collapsed. Extremely violent sea currents should prompt you to exercise extreme caution. After the sacred site of Parangsumo, you can reach the hot springs of Parang Wedang. To the east, caves carved into the cliffs are difficult to access and have become meditation niches. Still to the east of Parangtritis, Baron beach is beautiful and pleasant, but also dangerous due to its powerful waves. The coves can be reached by following the paths that link the various coves. The beaches of Kukup and Krakal are beautiful, but the proximity of the reefs makes them dangerous too. Nearby, you'll find the Parangwedang hot springs, where you can bathe in waters renowned for their health-giving and rejuvenating properties. A real treat.Just don't wear green, the color of the goddess, or you'll unleash her wrath! For safe bathing, small freshwater pools are available at the foot of the hill, near Parangtritis.
