Located in a mountainous setting, the Cipanas spa can be reached after a short drive from the Puncak pass, in the direction of Cibodas. The resort is famous for Istana Cipanas, the former residence of President Sukarno. Although this palace, with its hot-spring park and elegant mansion dating from 1750, is not open to visitors, it remains a symbol of the region's rich heritage. The fauna is represented by exotic species such as the silver gibbon, Java surili and Sunda blackbird. The flora is not to be outdone, with varieties such as Elaeocarpus macrocerus and Alstonia spatulata.
