Small port located between Aberystwyth and Cardigan, on the Aeron estuary. Its name literally means "Mouth of the River Aeron" in Welsh. The town's Regency-style architecture around the main square sets it apart from other towns in the country. The Dolaucothi gold mines are 35 minutes from Aberaeron. The region abounds in mines, but it's more rare to find yellow gold, which the Celts attributed magical powers to, the gold that was the color of the soul and hair of the gods, the gold that symbolized power and wisdom, the gold that was also said to be "condensed light"..
