This attractive national park is a sanctuary for all lovers of nature. Its hilly plains stretch smoothly and its étendues bruyères are endless. When you approach the shoreline, the hills come to dive in the sea and their rocks are shredded by foam.All the Moors are crossed by the Cleveland Way, a trail of great hiking cross the coastline and the hills over 177 km (www.nationaltrail.co.uk). You can inspire yourself for shorter steps, Ordonance Survey Explorer Map OL 26 and 27 (North York Moors) cover the entire region in an ultra-precise way.In the land, don't miss the tiny village of Hutton-le-Hole, Image image in Yorkshire where the little sheep reign in a lazy kings. The rural setting is perfectly rooted and it is the departure of many wild trails. If the atmosphere is right, you can go to Goathland, the town that served as a decoration at the Pré Gare station in the Harry Potter movies. In the Esk Valley, the landscapes were preserved in extraordinary fashion and ended on the Rosberry Topping (320 m), a summit in the air of Far West, well known for hikers. For even more green countryside, the hinterland of Scarborough is home to the deep Dalby Forest, loved by families and cyclists (www.forestry.gov.uk). On Heritage side, the Rievaulx Abbey at Helmsley offers an enchanting setting full of mysteries (all year round, weekends, £ 3,70-6,20. www.english-heritage.org.uk) and the remains of the Pickering Castle recall révolus time (in high season, £ 2,59-4,20. www.english-heritage.org.uk).On the coast, other landscapes emerge, where alternating cliffs and small villages of fishermen. Robin Hood's Bay is absolutely compelling. Despite legend, this beautiful colourful port was probably never visited by the famous thief. It is no less attractive with its long central street bordered by cottages that glide peacefully until the pier where the panorama is fantastic. The quintessence of this maritime atmosphere loaded with spray, the tiny Harbour harbour and its true postcard decor. This small coastal hamlet is charming, close to the high cliffs of Boulby. Cross the bridge and climb on its heights for breathtaking views.
