Halfway between Hobart and Port Arthur, the peaceful fishing port of Dunalley was able to rise from the ashes after the devastating bushfire of 2013. Located on the narrow isthmus that separates the Forestier and Tasman peninsulas from the rest of Tasmania, Dunalley is an excellent place for a seaside coffee break. Before passing the swing bridge, the Denison Channel was dug by human hands to allow fishing boats and sailing ships to reach the east coast from Hobart in sheltered water and without making the not always welcoming trip around the southeast cape. Do not forget to admire the Pub and its superb architecture.
