A small town of 8,500 inhabitants, Ráckeve is located south of Budapest, on the right bank of the island of Csepel, formed by two arms of the Danube. Easily accessible from the capital (40 km, road 51, HEV direct from Budapest), this former Serbian city is well worth a leap of faith from the capital for the incredible 18th century Byzantine frescos of its Orthodox church.
