Tumut is the last town at the northern end of the Kosciuszko National Park. The mid-mountain scenery is sublime. You can stop here to see the Edmund Blacket Anglican Church, the Oriental Hotel Tumut and other historical buildings, have lunch or even spend the night. Gas stations, supermarkets, post office, banks, restaurants and several accommodations are available. The city also has a Visitor Center open daily and located in The Old Butter Factory. Feel free to take a walk along the river, and to rest on the banks of the Blowering Reservoir, for a picnic for example.
