Accessible fairly easily from the capital, this national park spans a circumference of 30 km (about 2 000 ha) and is considered one of the most beautiful examples of almost untouched northern forest. Declared a national park in 1993 apès for almost a century to the wood operators and developers, the Tyresta forest is made up of typical landscapes of this central region of Sweden, it is unique on an international scale. With its several hundred-year-old pines (up to 400 years), its calm lakes and lined with rushes, its many animal species and its rare plant varieties, this sanctuary is an excellent exit. Safari with a guide, walk or bathing, the choice is wide, provided of course that the basic rules are respected: do not leave waste behind, do not degrade trees and plants, do not turn fire, keep your animal on leash, do not use bicycles off marked trails, do not disturb or frighten animal species…Access. 20 km south-east of Stockholm, Tyresta park is easily accessible by bus 807 from Gullmarsplan (subway station just south of Södermalm): several trips per day to the village of Tyresta, main entrance door of the park. Other solution: Pendeltag to Station station and bus 834 to Tyresta. By car you will need to follow Brandbergen and Tyrestavägen.In the village of Tyresta, located on the southwest edge of the park, you will find the visitor centre: Le, as well as what to eat and some cave paintings over 1000 years old. Toilets are also available.
