This pretty little historic village is located just between Launceston and Hobart. Steeped in an English atmosphere that is still very much alive, Ross still retains many historic buildings that speak to the importance of this small garrison town established in 1812. Take a stroll down Church Street and you'll notice that each building has its own charm and history. At one time Ross even had an all-women's prison. The Wool Museum contains valuable information about the life of the convicts and the development of the area. Ross is also a city of antique dealers.
