Bordertown, 272 kilometers east of Adelaide, lies on the border with the state of Victoria. In the 1850s, it was an important supply center for all gold miners in Victoria. Today, the town is a good stopover for travellers between Adelaide and Melbourne on the inland Dukes Highway (which runs parallel to the Princes Highway, and continues on the Riddoch Highway), and those bound for the nearby Little Desert National Park and Ngarkat Conservation Park.
