Travel Guide Chandelao

This small village located 45 km east of Jaipur is nestled in the desert. It displays the traditional face of Rajasthan, a thousand miles from the bustle of the big cities. Here, you can take time to observe the small craftsmen working at the entrance of their houses, the women going to the well or the children playing in the streets after school. The highlight of the visit is the red sandstone fortress, which has been transformed into a hotel, again in keeping with a certain tradition. A local NGO plays an active role in the education of young girls and also contributes to the improvement of the water collection systems of the surrounding villages.
