Güemes is a small hamlet of 300 inhabitants whose church of San Vicente was built and renovated in the 16th and 17th centuries. It doesn't really look like much from the outside, but it is worth a visit for its very elaborate altarpiece and its original balcony above the central nave. The village is small and even with the pilgrims passing through, there is not enough to open a grocery store. On the other hand, one or two bars-restaurants and several lodgings make it possible to stop for the night or simply for a restful break. There is a very decent pilgrims' hostel in the village near the center.
