The service is fast, attentive, the atmosphere pleasant, the cooking perfect. Makes you want to fly to Spain again!

Located in a small street in Carouge, this very friendly café-restaurant is a delight for a varied clientele working or living in the area, happy to relax for a lime-coloured lunch break where creative cuisine and know-how are combined. The decoration is made up of delicate aromatic plants produced by the Foyer-Handicap Foundation's horticultural department. The breads, made with local raw materials, from the 7Extra bakery, which is also part of the Foundation, are a special treat.

An excellent concept for family expeditions. This is a restaurant where children have a place of their own, for a change! Part of the Pro Juventute Genève foundation, Un R de Famille offers newspapers, WiFi and games for children, and serves cuisine made from fresh produce. Interesting brunches. Dishes are tasty and healthy. Our toddlers are kings and everything is done for them. That said, reviews of the quality of the welcome are very uneven; some are more than lukewarm.

A legend in the old town, located in a ^16th century private residence. If there is a restaurant that belongs to the history of Geneva, it is the Brasserie-Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville. Behind the counter, in the center of the room, Masa-san prepares the dishes in front of you at the rhythm of the orders, a guarantee of freshness and a real show. You can enjoy excellent sushi, real tempura, and also ramen, the specialty of the island of Hokkaido, in northern Japan. This popular dish consists of noodles bathed in a rich broth. The cuisine is excellent, the prices are accordingly high, but the quality of the dishes more than compensates for this. Reservations are essential.

L'Envers du décor takes us behind the scenes of a theater play where the "technical team" presents us with very tasty culinary creations! It unveils an unusual decor where industrial frames raise the large curtains of the ceiling. The bar seems to come straight out of a theater set and the furniture of the large hall makes this place very lively. One will be surprised by the fish which are prepared like monkfish in curry. Depending on arrival, it is possible to have the first taste of perch 100 % Lake Geneva (rare in Geneva).

When we pass the door of Sam-Lor, we are in total immersion in Northern Thailand: Asian sculptures, perched niches promote escape. A trip to the countries of the monks who are faithful servants of Buddha. The tasting dish gives you a glimpse of the finesse of the subtly spiced cuisine with a salad of soy sprouts and hearts of palm, homemade shrimp fritters. You can enjoy one of the best fondues in town. In the evening, it is imperative to reserve a table by phone. The buvette is worth a stop for its splendid setting, its unique atmosphere, its swimming, its concerts in summer and its cultural and sports activities.

One of our favorite places in Geneva and a great way to round off an evening after a good film, the Maison des Arts du Grütli brings together a cinema, a theater, a dance studio and the café, which also doubles as an exhibition hall. Its walls and ceiling are adorned with original works of art, creating a cosmopolitan atmosphere. The menu features dishes inspired by spicy, vegan, vegetarian and carnivore cuisine from the four corners of the globe. The restaurant takes great care in the presentation of its dishes. Recommended.

One of the best fondues in Geneva! This café seems to have an ancient history, because on its sign, you can read, "1824 - on foot and on horseback". The cheese dishes are exquisite: malakoffs, pan-fried tommes vaudoises, and of course the famous Gruyère AOC cheese fondue. As good as it is, the fondue does not satisfy all palates, which is why other suggestions are proposed: the cream of pumpkin of the country, the fillet of féra du lac to be tasted on a terrace. All in all, the Swiss gastronomic panoply to try before leaving Geneva.

The chef Cyrille Montanier wishes to offer you excellence with a refined, inventive and constantly renewed cuisine. His career with great chefs such as Bocuse and Rochat and his journey as a journeyman have given him a beautiful mastery of the culinary art, such as the famous hare à la Royale, which requires a long preparation but is worth the detour.

Gilding, mirrors, false ceilings and a bar "à la Parisienne" dating back to the 1940s, as the managers of the establishment claim. The whole place is a cozy setting to devour a meat grilled with a special technique, halfway between the oven and the grill to improve the cooking and the flavor of the meats. It is "charcoal grilled Jasper version", the famous "magic" cooking. It's serious: we offer a chateaubriand for two, ham on the bone, a T-bone, a rib of beef of 1 kg... Menus according to the seasons, refined cuisine.

It was at Geneva Airport that the first Montreux Jazz Café was created. A largely unpublished video archive of the Montreux Jazz Festival, which welcomes 250,000 people every year, punctuates the days of this place dedicated to music. This little Garden of Eden overlooks a crossroads where the sound of water from the fountain accompanies you during your gourmet break. The cosy dining room features comfortable banquettes in colors reminiscent of nature: yellow for the sun, green for the fields... It's a challenge to offer 100% vegan burgers, from bowls to falafels. A charming place to come to enjoy a basil-scented fruit juice and a miso soup with rice vermicelli. A charming address!

A small and discreet restaurant that hides a basic decor but is nevertheless an excellent address for Ethiopian specialties. One eats there with the fingers and all in the same plate, which remains to be avoided for the first meetings of lovers but proves to be of a great conviviality between friends. Only two dishes are offered, a vegetarian dish (lentils, salad, spinach) and beef kulwa served with its garnish on a large galette. The quality is surely better than in many of the more sought-after restaurants.

You enter a place with a unique cachet: an interweaving of cardboard boxes, direction signs, old advertising brochures, paintings and vintage touches. A good stop-off point for summer concerts. That said, the last time I checked, service was spotty...

An air of Lisbon while enjoying excellent Portuguese specialties, such as a good caldo verde, bolinhos de bacalhau or the famous feijoada brasileira, a unique Brazilian specialty. The famous bacalhau - cod - can be found at the end of the world in the restaurants of Macau. We find ourselves in the heart of Portugal, we could almost feel saudade, the famous nostalgia typical of the country. Simple and good gastronomy. You can order your seafood dishes 72 hours in advance. Reservation recommended.

With its panoramic view over the lake, the restaurant is especially worth a visit in summer to enjoy the terrace. In winter, on the other hand, the site can be noisy under the glass roof, but very pleasant in the shade under the parasols on sunny days. Facing the monument to Brunswick, a true dandy and colorful character who bequeathed his entire fortune (22 million gold francs in 1873) for a monument dedicated to him, the Cottage Café is a charming spot for lunch in the heart of Geneva. It's the name of the fish of the founder of these three franchises in France and Switzerland, not the name of a character from a Marcel Carné film! The gastronomy is of American influence, offering the unavoidable tuna and avocado sandwiches, burgers, French toasts, pancakes, waffles, cheesecakes, carrot cakes... Thus, we enjoy couscous, keftas, tagines served in large dishes, mezzes..., all in a dimmed atmosphere for an oriental flight. You can smoke a hookah on the summer terrace and be tempted by the oriental desserts (under the sign of sugar!). A small journey to let our senses discover spices from elsewhere, in the district of the Caves, ultra lively and really nice. In the dining room, the only drawback is that it is a bit noisy.

This establishment deserves a stop for its setting, its cuisine and service, and the quality of its welcome at any time of day!

In the heart of the old city, a small terrace announces a departure - for the moment virtual - towards Thailand. A small dream, enough to make you want to head back to Chiang Mai, again and again. Like the country, the sense of welcome and customer service is at the rendezvous, in this establishment, as always when traveling in Asia. The prices are a bit high, like in other restaurants in the center of Geneva.
