Travel Guide Lac De Varese

Surrounded by the Alps and not far from Mont Rose, this attractive gentle lake is named after the town of Varese, a few kilometres from its shores. Its gentle and peace-loving landscapes attract many visitors, including Milan and its surroundings. The town of Gavirate, at the northern end of the lake, is a seaside resort frequented by the Milanese. The lake is dominated by the Sacred Monte rich in art and by the regional park of Campo dei Fiori (1 226 m).Transport. The lake is 60 km north-west of Milan.
