Dijon, capital of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region and the Côte-d'Or department, is a city of tourism and history, many of whose treasures are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A gastronomic mecca, its culinary specialties such as mustard, gingerbread and crème de cassis are represented at the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin, inaugurated on May 6, 2022.The city shines not only as a tourist destination, but also for the quality of life it offers its residents. Eco-friendly, with a photovoltaic power plant built on the site of the former Valmy landfill, Dijon is going all hydrogen. We love the peaceful atmosphere that reigns here and stroll along the Canal port or the shores of Lake Kir, whose nautical base will be modernized in the future. In addition to state-of-the-art sports facilities, the city is also equipped with the best housing infrastructure, with the construction of 114 energy-efficient homes.Last but not least, Dijon and culture go hand in hand! In the city center, passers-by rub shoulders with works of contemporary art. After Gloria Friedmann's Le Compteur du temps unveiled last summer in Place Grangier, the Square des Ducs is now home to Point de vue, by Burgundian artist Philippe Ramette. Following the inauguration of the Musée des Beaux-Arts, the city's current renovation projects include the Grand Théâtre, previously closed to the public, and the Bibliothèque patrimoniale et d'étude, a 17th-century monument.

What to visit Dijon?

When to go to Dijon?

Dijon is a very touristic destination, animations and activities are proposed all year round. No off-season. You can visit Dijon in any season, even if the summer season is preferable if you want to avoid the cold and rain. But even in gloomy weather, Dijon's architectural, cultural, commercial and gastronomic richness is enough to delight visitors and warm up the atmosphere. In autumn (10 days at the beginning of November), the Dijon International and Gastronomic Fair with its 600 exhibitors can be an additional attraction.
