This reserve is located 40 km northeast of Vientiane. Phou Khao Khouay, means "mount of the buffalo horn". This Phou Khao Khouay National Biodiversity Conservation Area is believed to be home to Asian elephants, however not one has been seen for many years. Are also present: tigers, bears, gibbons, langurs, reptiles, amphibians... This protected area is suitable for trekking, canyoning and wildlife observation. Staying one night in a nearby village, you will be able to observe the local life and spend an unforgettable time with the population.
