More commonly known as the Basilica of Señora del Valle, the neoclassical cathedral welcomes in its nave a statue of the virgin, the Virgen del Valle, the subject of devotion to the sacrament of penance. Its construction begins in 1860 and ends 15 years later, and becomes a place of religious pilgrimage. Inside, under the cupola, several interesting frescoes, such as the assumption of Mary surrounded by the four evangelists.
