This small island 8 km off the coast of Punta del Este is famous for its nature reserve and its colony of sea lions and fur seals, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. During your visit, observe the 59-meter high lighthouse, which is among the most powerful in South America, guiding ships up to 40 km with a signal every 5 seconds. Built in 1906, it uses solar energy since 2001.
