This beautiful national park created in 1937 extends along the Chilean border. The isolation is total and the climate sometimes capricious and few tourists venture there. One can contemplate the snowy peaks of the Sierra Colorada and magnificent forests of lenga. Its geology is interesting since the park is a perfect sample of the steppe, in the east, and the Patagonian forests, in the west. The lakes, which are hit by the winds, have beautiful green-blue reflections, among them the Belgrano Lake, the Volcano Lake and the Escondido Lake. The fauna of the park is abundant and the wild environment gives us the opportunity to see some rare species such as the huemul, the largest deer in Patagonia. There are also guanacos, flamingos, rheas and the orange chinchillón, a rodent of about 70 cm
