The Saint-Tropez of Denmark with white sandy beaches as beautiful as those in the south of France. Danish artists began to discover its charms and settle there in the 19th century. It is the sunniest city in the country, it enjoys a microclimate. It smells of wild roses and the side is very little built. A town was founded in the Middle Ages, at least, its name "Holbækgaard - Holbaek garden" is mentioned for the first time in a letter from Absalon, dated June 8, 1199, where he donates most of his land to the monastery of Sorø. The ferries from the island of Orø pass through its harbor.
