Manas National Park is a beautiful sanctuary that extends into Bhutan. This site of great natural beauty is characterized by a combination of forested hills, alluvial grasslands and evergreen rainforests. It is a viable habitat for an extremely rich fauna, including endangered species such as the tiger, great one-horned rhinoceros, swamp deer, dwarf boar and Bengal bustard. The park also has 380 species of birds including many migratory birds. It is one of the most remarkable natural areas in the region where large populations of many endangered species still survive.
