Rajaji National Park is located along the hills of the Shivalik mountains at the foot of the Himalayas and is the Shivalik ecosystem.The national park is 220 km from Delhi and 510 km from Lucknow. The closest stations are Haridwar (8 km), Dehradun (24 km) or Rishikesh.This park covers an area of 820 km 2 and includes three wild fauna sanctuaries: Rajaji, Motichur and Chilla. It is crossed by the Ganges River over 24 km.Among the many animal species that inhabit this park are the tiger, elephant, leopard, hyena and more than 400 species of birds.The park is open from mid-November to mid-June. Visitors must have a permit to visit the park. This permit is valid at all park entrances and costs 350 Rs (for foreigners) for 3 days; if you wish to extend your visit, you must count 150 Rs per additional day. 50 Rs supplement for the use of a video camera and 500 Rs for a private vehicle. Count 200 Rs the promenade of elephant.
