The Cotapata National Park and Integrated Protected Natural Area is located in the Yungas, east of La Paz towards Coroico, along the old "death road" which, in the space of 4 hours, makes the transition between the glaciers of the Cordillera and the Amazon, 3,600 m below. It offers protected Andean landscapes of great beauty, crowned with snowy peaks from which torrents and waterfalls descend. Several endangered species such as the Andean bear or the condor live in this park and some archaeological sites are remarkable, such as the pre-Hispanic path El Choro, some ruins and rock paintings.
