Located on the extreme southwest of the Guangxi province, on the border with Vietnam, Detian Falls offer visitors a sublime variety of karst landscapes. The falls are more than 40 m high and the falls offer a colossal panorama, especially as they span nearly 200 m wide. The water drains into the cliffs with such intensity that one might think of tonnerre. This spectacular landscape evolves as seasons unfold. In spring, the red flowers of the kapokiers surrounding the falls are in full bloom. In autumn, the landscape transforms and becomes ochre with the dominant yellow. However, you will be advised to travel between May and September when the water flow then spilled into the falls is at its maximum. In winter, the view is much less impressive, as well as being bouchée by mist. The visit takes place in a day. In the morning is the best time for photos. You are advised to provide a good pair of shoes if you want to crapahuter around, especially to the historical point No. 53, ready for the time of the French colonization of Vietnam. Recorded in Chinese and French, it marked the "Sino-asia border" of the time, still topical today.
