Jaalan Bani Bu Ali, interior territory of the Wahhabi also settled in Aylah opposite Sur, thus functions in mirror image with Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, the village after it, ibadite. A short stopover in both will be of interest. Traditional, Jaalan Bani Bu Ali counts watchtower and citadel, a Friday souk, but deserves especially the detour for its old and curious mosque, with a unique architecture: 52 domes and cupolas supported by a set of pillars. Listed and entirely restored, the Jami Al Hamoda mosque is said to have been built in the 11th century. Of rather modest size, it can be visited outside prayer hours.
