Located at 9 km from Pucallpa, this immense lake with beautiful blue waters is the most visited tourist site of the region. It can be reached by bus or motorcycle taxi in about 15 minutes. In July 2016 the project of the new Malecón was launched, but the outcome is slow and therefore it is not fully completed. Anyway, this lake is ideal for rides in peque peque, small boats so named for the noise of their engine. From there, you can visit the shipibo communities of San Francisco or Santa Clara who sell their handicrafts: necklaces, ceramics and sumptuous embroidered fabrics. A very nice excursion.
