30 minutes by car from Tumbes (S/ 3 en colectivo that you will take from Avenida Mariscal Castilla or from Avenida Tumbes). The first oil well in the whole continent was drilled here in 1882. Now that the well is closed, these are the most beautiful beaches in the region. Not far from there, we advise you to make a small detour inland to bathe in the thermal mud baths of Hervideros (the site is rather basic, but the experience is very nice; entrance fee to be paid on the spot). Count on about S/ 40 a/r by taxi to get there. No village life in Zorritos, but lots of lodges.
